Active Ageing

Sports Focus is helping to drive the growth and implementation of initiatives to increase physical activity levels of older adults in the communities of Boort, Wedderburn, Pyramid Hill, Central Goldfields and Long Gully.  By carrying out this work within these communities it will enhance physical activity levels among older adults, create more opportunities for older adults to socialize with others and increase their opportunities for involvement in sport and active recreation.

The overall outcomes of this work will help to increase access to and awareness of sports and active recreation which can be adapted to suit those aged 65 or older, whilst keeping physical activities fun and exciting for older adults.

Partners supporting this project consist of; Inglewood & District Health Services, Loddon Shire Council, Dingee Bush Nursing Centre, Northern District Community Health, Primary Care Partnership, Macedon Ranges Shire Council, Boort District Health, Mildura Rural City Council and Bendigo Carer Support Services.
