Mount Alexander Disability Action Plan Working Group

Sports Focus is excited to be working with the Mount Alexander Shire Council on their newly-formed Disability Action Plan Working Group. This Working Group is made up of local services and community members who have a disability and those with experience working with or caring for someone with a disability.

The aim of the group is to develop the Shire’s Disability Action Plan to ensure the Shire continues to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.

All Councils must have a Disability Action Plan in order to address common barriers such as:

• Physical access to buildings
• Access to information
• Access to community services and programs
• Access to employment

We are excited to be a part of this group to ensure that sport and recreation is represented within the Plan.
