Season Ready – Have we got qualified first aiders and sports trainers?

Sport is a great way for people to get fit and stay healthy; however, sport also creates a risk of injury. Good prevention and management practices can help reduce the incidence and impact on such injuries. A key to these practices is having appropriately trained volunteers who can respond effectively in an emergency. Now is the time to assess whether your club is sufficiently covered in regards to first aiders and sports trainers; and if not, identifying club volunteers willing to be upskilled.

Sports Focus in conjunction with Sports Medicine Australia will be conducting a number of First Aid and Level 1 Sports Trainers courses over March, April & May to assist clubs to ensure volunteers are adequately skilled.
